Rosalie Walker

Rosalie like most other sisters lived and worked at home until her marriage. It was during this time that Edward Ernest Badcock, a Boer War and First World War veteran, was courting her younger sister Laura. When Laura died, Edward still continued to call at the Spring Rises home. He eventually married Rosalie who was then 37 years of age. They were married by the Reverend Phillip James at Westbury in December 1930.

Edward, Ted, as everyone called him had a traction engine, chaff cutter, threshing machine and bailer, and travelled around the Westbury district serving the needs of the farmers during harvest time. He and Rosalie lived all their married life in their home in Westbury and their only surviving child, son Wilbert, still lives there. A younger son, Eric Thomas, lived for only three days
