Herbert John Cocker and Annie Malvina Bonney

Herbert John Cocker was born on 22 Jun 1889 in Mersey, Devonport and died on 5 Oct 1958 at age 69. Herbert married Annie Malvina Bonney, daughter of William Bonney and Ann Braid, on 29 Mar 1916 in Presbyterian Church, Barrington. Annie was born on 16 Aug 1892 in Mersey, Devonport and died on 23 Oct 1974 at age 82.

WEDDING BELLS. A wedding was solemnised on Wednes- day last in the Presbyterian Church, Sheffield, by Rev. D. S. Jones, of Devonport. The contracting parties were Herbert John, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Cocker, "Bellevue," Lower Barrington, and Annie Malvina Bonney, grand-daughter of Mrs. Braid, sen., of West Kentish. The church was decorated by friends of the bride, a large wedding bell being suspended over the bridal pair. As the bride entered the church on the arm of her uncle, Mr. J. Braid, who gave her away, the hymn "O Perfect Love" was sung by the choir, and as the bridal party left the church the "Wedding March" was played by Miss Dalziel. The bride was attired in a dress of ivory paillette silk made pinafore fashion, with ivory ninon under-bodice, finished with spray of orange blossom, the double skirt being ruched at the waist. A tulle veil, with spray of orange blossom, was worn, also the gift of the bridegroom, a necklet of amethysts and pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of choice white flowers and fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Amy Cocker (sister of the bridegroom) wore a shell pink crepe de chene dress, the bodice crossover style, and corded, the full skirt corded and ruched at the hem, and hat of black panne velvet, underlined with pink. She were the bridegroom's gift (a gold bangle), and carried a bouquet of white flowers and fern, tied with pale pink ribbons. The little maid of honour, Miss Saidee Morey (niece of the bride groom) wore a cream silk dress finished with pearls, and large white bow on hair, and carried a handpainted white satin cushion (the gift of Mrs. D. Hope) for the bride to kneel upon. The bride- groom's gift to her was a gold lily of the valley brooch. The bridegroom was supported by his brother (Mr. C. Cocker). The bride's gift to the groom was a silver shaving mug and brush. After the ceremony the newly-wedded couple left per motor for Launceston, where the honeymoon will be spent, the bride travelling in a navy cloth costume with cream vest and white felt hat. The pre- sents included several substantial cheques. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Cocker will be at Lower Barrington.

4-Robert James Bruce Cocker was born about 1919 and died on 8 Apr 1996 in Methodist Church Devonport aged about 77. Robert married Grace Lillian Hoare, daughter of Samuel Arthur Hoare and Beatrice Lillian Treloar, on 25 Jul 1944.  They had three children: Carolyn Elizabeth Grace, Margaret Lilian Ann and Robert James.

5-Carolyn Elizabeth Grace Cocker was born on 24 May 1947 in Meercroft, Devonport. Carolyn married Glenn Whitney.  They had two children: Simone and Shane.

5-Margaret Lilian Ann Cocker was born on 21 Aug 1950 in Meercroft, Devonport. Margaret married John Hamilton Duncombe. They had three children: Simone Margaret, Robert John and Juanita Ingrid.

5-Robert James Cocker was born on 28 May 1953 and died on 30 Nov 1958 at age 5.

4-John Douglas Braid (Jack) Cocker was born on 1 Jan 1921 in Lower Barrington, Tasmania, died on 28 Sep 1997 in Ulverstone, Tasmania at age 76, and was buried on 1 Oct 1997 in Ulverstone, Tasmania. John married Betty Mabel Jago, daughter of Alfred Edwin Jago and Elvie Mabel Hayward, on 10 Jul 1948 in Devonport, Tasmania. Betty was born in 1927 in Tasmania, died on 7 Jan 2002 in Latrobe at age 75, and was buried on 11 Jan 2002 in Ulverstone, Tasmania. They had two children: Glenyce Elizabeth and Dale John.

5-Glenyce Elizabeth Cocker was born on 3 Apr 1950 in Meercroft, Devonport. Glenyce married Paul Surtees.  They had five children: Nicholas Paul, Anthony John, Deborah, Jennifer and Jonathon Andrew.

6-Nicholas Paul Surtees was born before 1970. Nicholas married Jacqueline Louise (Jacqui) McGuire.  They had two children: Brodie Jack and Harrison.

7-Brodie Jack Surtees was born on 7 Jun 2002.

7-Harrison Surtees was born on 29 Nov 2007.

6-Deborah Surtees. Deborah married Craig Peter Badcock. Craig was born on 12 Sep 1962 in Devonport. They had four children: Dana Chelsea, Lucas Craig, Rowena and Joel Paul.

7-Dana Chelsea Badcock was born on 12 Sep 2000 in Latrobe.

7-Lucas Craig Badcock was born on 5 Sep 2002 in Latrobe.

5-Dale John Cocker was born on 24 Jul 1952 in Meercroft, Devonport. Dale married Leanne Mary Peck about Jan 1976 in St Josephs Church, Queenstown.  They had two children: Shannon Maree and Travis Lance.

6-Shannon Maree Cocker was born on 4 Apr 1979.
